We produced Taraka Festival with Gordo and San Jose Foos, bringing nearly 5,000 people together for a community-rooted, high-energy music experience. The event marked a major cultural moment for the city.

The Ask

A Festival for San Jose

DJ and producer Gordo wanted to bring his signature energy to San Jose in a way that would feel both massive and community-driven. Partnering with local collective San Jose Foos, the goal was to create a first-of-its-kind daytime festival for the city — one that could bring thousands together around music, culture, and unity.

What we Did

Community Meets Big Energy

WKND HRS produced the Taraka Festival in Downtown San Jose, transforming Discovery Meadow Park into a full-scale rave-inspired experience. From stage design and lighting to full event production, we built an environment that delivered festival-level energy while staying rooted in the community. Gordo headlined alongside an all-day lineup, with the space designed to pulse with music, lights, and movement from afternoon into the night.

The Results

A Landmark Local Moment

The Taraka Festival drew nearly 5,000 attendees — one of the largest music turnouts San Jose has seen in years. The event made headlines for its scale, positive energy, and cultural impact. As San Jose Foos founder Anthony Gomez put it: “That’s a fantastic turnout for San Jose… Everyone is just having a good time, hanging out, dancing. It’s all peace, love, unity, and respect.” Gordo’s headlining set, powered by our production, cemented the event as a landmark moment for the city’s music scene.
